Below you'll see & read about dogs in Monroe, North Carolina living in horrible conditions. Why is this allowed? These dogs have no voice. WE ARE THEIR VOICE. We are a group of dedicated people who are sick & tired of seeing pets suffer. We're also sick & tired of hearing that Animal Control wouldn't do anything. From now on, when we see suffering, inhumanely treated pets anywhere in Union County, NC, we'll post it here, pictures and all.

Sunday: Quiet
It's been quiet for a few days and that's okay. This week things will be back in gear.
The fence company will be coming out to measure for the pens / fencing.
Remember, Tuesday evening at 6pm is the City Council meeting.
Are the number of pets being slaughtered at the union county, nc shelter down since the county got the new million dollar shelter? where can a citizen/resident get that information? This blog is really good and exposes the truth. Exploring Union County and the City of Monroe...
I don't have the kill numbers for the county pound. This is a public facility paid for and supported by tax dollars. Therefore, that information should be public knowledge. Call and ask for the info you want. If they refuse to give it to you, contact the press.
It is public knowledge, although who knows if the reported statistics are actually correct. Below are NC shelter euthanasia, etc., statistics for 2010.
This is for all animals: http://ncagr.gov/vet/aws/fix/documents/2010FYPublicAnimalShelterReportcorrected.pdf
This is for dogs and cats only: http://ncagr.gov/vet/aws/fix/documents/2010FYPublicAnimalShelterReportdogandcatonlycorrected.pdf
This is the page where I found those links: http://ncagr.gov/vet/aws/fix/
